Refunds

When money can be returned, and how to ask.

1 min readLast updated 24 October 2026

A refund returns money you have already paid. Whether one is possible depends on how long ago the payment was and whether the thing you paid for has been used.

Class refunds

  • Cancel well before the class starts and nothing is charged in the first place.
  • Cancel close to the start and a partial charge may apply — the school’s window decides.
  • If the school cancels the class, nothing is charged and any charge already taken is returned.

Membership refunds

A membership is a subscription, so the usual answer is to cancel rather than to refund: cancelling stops the next charge, and you keep what you already paid for until the period ends. A refund of a membership payment is decided case by case.

iSpeak’s assistant cannot promise a refund, a discount or a decision. Only support can, and they will look at the actual payment.

Asking for one

  1. 1Open the assistant and describe what happened, with the school and roughly when you paid.
  2. 2The assistant opens a support ticket for you.
  3. 3Support replies to you directly.

Please raise it with support before disputing a payment with your bank. A dispute freezes the whole thing for weeks; a question is usually answered in days.
