Using a promo code
Where the code field is, what it shows, and what each refusal means.
If a school has given you a promo code, you can use it at checkout and pay less. Here is where the field is and what you will see.
Where the field is
- Joining a paid school, from the school’s page.
- Buying a single course.
- Starting or changing an iSpeak plan, under Billing.
Look for Have a promo code? and press it. Type the code and press Apply.
What you see when it works
The list price is struck through, the discount is shown next to it, and the total underneath is what you will actually pay. The line under it says how long the discount lasts — the first payment only, the first few months, or every payment. Remove takes it off again.
If it does not work
The field tells you why, in one line, and never guesses. The usual reasons are that the code has expired, has been paused by the school, has already been used as many times as it allows, is reserved for another e-mail address, or belongs to a different school or a different kind of purchase.
On a plan change
A code on a plan change takes effect from your next invoice. The amount charged today to move you to the new plan is not discounted, and the dialog says so before you commit.
