Language and time zone
The interface language, and the zone your times are shown in.
iSpeak is available in English, Russian and Turkmen, and every date and time in the app is shown in your own time zone.
Changing the language
The language switch sits in the top bar. Changing it changes the interface immediately, and iSpeak remembers your choice on this device. It does not change the language other people write to you in, and it does not translate their messages.
Help Center articles are written per language too. If an article has not been translated yet, you will see the English one with a small “Not yet translated” chip.
Time zones
By default iSpeak uses the time zone your device reports, so a class at 18:00 is shown at 18:00 where you are. If you would rather pin a specific zone — because you travel, or because you are booking for a school in another country — you can choose one explicitly in your settings.
Class times, event times and the “last updated” date on a Help article all follow this setting, so setting it once makes the whole app agree.
Your country and city
Your country and city are chosen from the app’s own lists, and both are complete: every country and territory, and every place with more than a thousand people. Start typing a city name and the list narrows as you type — capital letters and accents do not matter, so "turkmenabat" finds "Türkmenabat" and "ashgabat" finds "Aşgabat". The region each city sits in is shown under its name, and the arrow keys move down the list.
If your city is not in the list, choose "My city is not listed" and type it. It is saved as free text and flagged for us to add. Until it is added it simply will not place you on a map.
