Give feedback about iSpeak

A small card asks how iSpeak is doing. One tap answers it, it appears rarely, and you can see and delete your answers in **Settings › Your feedback**.

Now and then iSpeak asks how the app itself feels to use. It is a single tap, never a pop-up that blocks you, and it never asks about your school. This article explains the card, the timing rules and your control over it.

The card

The card reads How is iSpeak doing for you? with three choices: Bad, Fine and Good. It slides in at the bottom-right of the screen, or as a one-line sheet at the bottom on a phone.

  1. 1Tap one of the three choices.
  2. 2For Bad or Fine, an optional box asks what could be better. Up to 300 characters.
  3. 3For Bad, a Talk to support button opens a support ticket with your comment already filled in.
  4. 4For Good, a short thank-you appears and the card leaves.

The whole thing takes two taps at most. The × in the corner dismisses it, and a small Don't ask again link stops it for good.

If you do nothing, the card leaves by itself after 20 seconds.

How rarely it appears, and why

The server decides when you are eligible, and the card shows only on a quiet screen. You will see it only when all of these hold:

  • your account is at least 2 days old
  • you have used iSpeak in at least 3 sessions for 30 minutes in total
  • the current session is older than 5 minutes
  • no question of any kind was asked in the last 7 days
  • you have not answered in the last 90 days or dismissed in the last 30 days
  • you have been asked fewer than 3 times this year
  • something real just happened: you finished a lesson, attended a class, sent a few messages, completed a payment or used the assistant

It appears only on Discovery, a school's Community feed, the Classroom list, Members, Calendar, your Profile or Settings, and only after 4 seconds without typing or scrolling. It never appears during checkout, while you create a school, in chat, inside a lesson player, in Speak with AI, over an open dialog or while a text field is focused. It also waits while the cookie bar is up.

Letting the card time out counts as ignored, not dismissed. It does not start the 30-day cooldown, but it does keep the 7-day gap, so you will not be asked again that week.

The recommend question

Much more rarely, a different card asks How likely are you to recommend iSpeak to a friend? with chips from 0 to 10 and an optional What is the main reason? box. It follows the same quiet rules, appears only once your account is at least 30 days old, waits at least 180 days between asks and never more than twice a year.

Seeing and deleting your answers

  1. 1Open the avatar menu and choose Settings.
  2. 2Open Your feedback.
  3. 3Every answer you gave is listed with its date and score. Press Delete on any of them.

Comments are visible to the iSpeak team only. If the team replies to your feedback, the reply arrives as a notification and by email.

School reviews are different

Rating a school is a separate feature. After 7 days as a member you can leave 1 to 5 stars and a text on the school's About page. That review is public, one per member, editable, and the owner can reply. The feedback card described here is about iSpeak itself and is never shown on a school page as a review.

Common questions

Can I turn the card off? Yes. Press Don't ask again on the card. It never appears again for your account.

Why did I get the card today? You met every rule above and had just finished something, such as a lesson or a payment, on a quiet screen.

Will my school owner see my answer? No. Feedback about iSpeak goes only to the iSpeak team.

I pressed Bad by mistake. Delete the answer in Settings › Your feedback. You can also simply close the comment box without sending it.

Where do school reviews go? To the school's About page, as stars and text, visible to everyone.
